Pietro Brunelli — Santorini

The Concept

A virtual runway in Santorini, generated with AI, for Pietro Brunelli Milano's maternity collection: a 15-second vertical film. The models walk down whitewashed steps among bougainvillea, pose in front of blue-domed churches and windmills, and walk along the cliffs above the sea. They wear long pale-blue floral dresses, chambray shirt dresses and white gowns. Full Mediterranean light and a white and blue palette tie the island to the collection, and the bump is shown with ease and elegance. The film ends on the brand's logo.

Applications

The film is made for social media and paid campaigns, in the vertical format that fills a phone screen. It exists in several versions with different soundtracks, so the same edit adapts to different audiences and platforms without remaking the images. Alongside the film come the single stills used to build it: each dress has its own photo, useful for posts, for the e-commerce product page and for the newsletter. For a maternity brand it is a way to show the garments on pregnant silhouettes, in a dream location, without organising a trip abroad with a crew.

Technical Workflow

From garment photos to scenes. The work started from photos of the dresses in the collection, turned into editorial scenes set on the island. The floral print, the smocking on the bodice, and the collar and belt of the shirt dress stay true to the real garments. The models. We chose models of different ages and backgrounds, to show the same collection on different women. The pregnancy silhouettes were refined one by one, so the bump looks believable and the fabrics fall naturally over it. The locations. Pebbled steps, white walls, blue doors and windows, domes, windmills and the bay seen from above: the most recognisable views of Santorini, always in full daylight. Each dress has its own backdrop: the floral pale blue among bougainvillea and on white terraces, the pale blue dress backlit between the windmills, the shirt dress in front of the domes, the white gown on the cliff with the bay behind. Animation and edit. The scenes were animated as a runway sequence, with the models' stride and the light movement of the fabrics in the wind, and edited into a vertical 4K film that closes on the Pietro Brunelli Milano logo.
