Patrizia Cavalleri — Puglia Bridal
The Concept
AI formalwear shoot for Patrizia Cavalleri's lace bridal collection, among the trulli of Puglia's Itria Valley. Nobody travelled to Puglia: the dry stone, the olive trees and the sunset light are rebuilt digitally, and the bride herself is a digital model. The ivory floral-embroidered lace gown, cut to a mermaid silhouette over a nude lining, runs across four exterior shots. The close portrait is taken from behind in low amber late-afternoon light, with the sleeve embroidery and the row of tiny covered buttons along the forearm held against the conical stone roof of a trullo. A half-length front shot opens up the V-neckline under the trullo's white pinnacle. The back view rests a hand on a dry stone wall and shows the illusion tulle panel, the buttons running down the spine and the train spread on the flagstones. The full-length front shot stands in a stone courtyard between terracotta urns and olive trees. The fifth image moves indoors: same bride, seated on an upholstered chair in a plain satin style with no lace, window light, a garment rail behind her.
Applications
On a mermaid gown the back and the train carry much of the decision: the illusion tulle panel, the covered buttons and the train open on the stone usually earn as much space as the front. Shortlists get built on screen, before anyone books a bridal appointment. The close portrait keeps the subject mid-frame, framed with the square listing thumbnail in mind, while product-page zoom has to hold the floral embroidery at 100 per cent, which is what the upscale is for. Ivory over the nude lining has to stay identical from pose to pose, because in a lookbook or a catalogue that also goes to print the gown sits next to other styles, and any colour temperature drift between the exteriors and the getting-ready shot shows.
