Almates — Safari & Riviera

The Concept

Two men's knitwear and polo capsules for Almates, shot with AI and told as two journeys. In SAFARI, knitted polos, ribbed T-shirts and knit shirts in terracotta, olive and sand cross the savannah, among acacias, tall golden grass and vintage off-roaders. In MARIN the collection moves to a Riviera harbour, on board teak sailing boats, among rigging and wooden jetties, in navy stripes, blue and coral. The leads are two men in their mid-forties, chosen together with the client, for a mature and believable elegance.

Applications

The images from the shoot serve the lookbook, e-commerce and social. Each garment has its own single shot, for the product page and dedicated posts. The pair shots, with the two men bent over a map next to the off-roader or standing at the helm of the boat, tell a lifestyle instead and work as a campaign opener or banner. The close-ups of collars and textures, like the white trim on the collar of the sand polo, show the knit and the finishing up close, which is exactly what a full-length shot cannot show. Nobody travelled to the savannah or the harbour: both settings were built digitally around the real garments.

Technical Workflow

From packshot to model. The client gave us photos of the garments without a model. From these we created on-model editorial images, respecting the stitch, the contrast trims and the colours of each capsule. Casting. The two models were presented in several variants on side-by-side comparison grids and approved by the client before any final image was made. The same two faces return throughout the campaign: the grey-haired man in the savannah, the dark-haired one at the harbour, and both together in the pair shots. Settings. The mood comes from the brand's social references. The savannah is in warm, low light, with golden grass and acacias in the background. The harbour is in full daylight, with blue sea, the polished wood of the deck and the coastal town behind. The two capsules therefore have two distinct palettes, warm earth tones on one side and blues and coral on the other, and can be told apart at a glance even side by side in the same grid. Finishing. Every image was refined in post-production, with attention to the knit textures, collars and buttons, so the garments stay true to the real ones.
