Nuova Immagine — Salon Management App
A custom management app for a barber shop: bookings, clients, WhatsApp reminders and revenue, to use between one haircut and the next.

Nuova Immagine is a barber shop in Trani, in southern Italy. The owner kept his bookings in a paper diary and reminded clients of their appointments with messages typed by hand, one at a time. We built him a custom management app for phone and tablet, designed to be used in a hurry between one haircut and the next. It opens on the day ahead: the client who is about to arrive, today's appointments, the takings and who needs a reminder for tomorrow. Then comes the calendar with month, week and day views, the client book with labels and history, the service list, WhatsApp reminders and a page for revenue. The animation above runs the real app with demo data.

The day, as soon as you open the app
At the top, the client who is about to arrive, with service, time and price; next to it, a glance at tomorrow. Below are today’s bookings, the takings and who needs a reminder for the next day. One tap on “Served” closes the haircut and updates the numbers.
- Next client
- Daily takings
- Remind tomorrow
A booking in a few taps
Plus button, booking type, client, service, time and length, summary, confirm. The time grid adapts to the length of the service, and a tentative booking keeps the slot taken until the client replies. Next to this text the real app runs on a tablet.
- Confirmed or tentative
- Slots sized to the service

The shop’s client book, with WhatsApp built in
Every client has labels such as “Top client”, “Punctual” or “Cancels often”, and a history of visits. From the Reminders page the app opens WhatsApp on the right chat with the message already written: the barber only has to press send.
- Coloured labels
- Visit history
- Message templates

The numbers, only for whoever needs them
Gross takings, services delivered and average ticket for the last 7, 30 or 90 days, compared with the previous period and filterable by service. It is a private ledger: the numbers stay on the shop’s phone.

Structure first, colour later
Calendar, new booking, client card and reminders started as bare screens with the taps marked on them. We reviewed them with the owner until every path was obvious, and only then designed the interface in black, white and gold.

An icon on the shop’s phone
The golden scissors of the logo become the app icon, installed on Android phones and tablets. On launch the logo appears on black, from blurred to sharp, and straight after comes the day ahead.
Design choices, step by step
Listening
We started from the way the owner works: the words he uses, the moments he picks up his phone, the things he tends to forget. That gave us one simple rule: every frequent action must take one or two taps.
Wireframes
Before any visual design we drew the main flows in a bare version: calendar, new booking, client card, reminders. We reviewed them together until the path was obvious.
Design
Black, white and gold, like the scissors logo. Three themes to choose from, a drawn icon for every service on the list, large text and buttons that are easy to press with busy hands.
Data
The shop's client book was imported from its WhatsApp contacts: more than 360 clients, with numbers ready for reminders. Calendar and history start empty, with no invented bookings.
Delivery
The app installs on Android phones and tablets. Several devices in the same shop can stay in sync, but syncing stays off until it is needed.
Showreel
For the website we prepared an animation in which the app uses itself: opening, new booking, summary and confirmation.
