Black Tie Affair

The Concept

Black Tie Affair is an AI formalwear shoot staged at gala events. One set covers e-commerce and social. Among the pieces is a floor-length burgundy gown with an allover micro-crystal finish: the neckline plunges over a sheer panel, a ring sits at the waist, and the gathered draping breaks into a ruffle that runs down to the front split. Among the settings: an iron-and-glass conservatory at dusk, orchids and warm string lights on every side; a ballroom under crystal chandeliers, guests in dark suits blurred out in the background; a gilded theatre box in deep red velvet. Alongside them, still-life frames on white that isolate the dress and show how it is cut. The model is purpose-built around the brand's identity and aesthetic, and she reads the same while the light changes three times: same face, same build, same way she carries herself, from cold dusk in the conservatory to amber chandelier light to the low-key theatre. No location, no crew, all digital.

Applications

Anyone shopping for a formal dress is weighing two things at once: how the dress is made, and where they would wear it. The still life on white answers the first and belongs on the product page: easy to cut out, with the full length inside the frame. The gala scenes answer the second and sit further up the funnel, on collection pages and in campaign work, where the setting does the job a product shot cannot. They also give three distances on the same dress, full length in the conservatory, thigh-up in the ballroom, three-quarter from behind in the theatre, so three posts that will not look alike in a feed. For an atelier or an eveningwear label, the set comes with a full commercial licence, print included.

Technical Workflow

Midjourney v6, Flux.1 and Photoshop all work on the same assets, with the dress and the model's face held consistent from one frame to the next. The bright surface of the fabric is the delicate part: the highlights have to stay readable without blowing out, or the burgundy closes up into black and the fabric and embroidery lose their texture. Every scene has its own colour cast, all three cinematically lit: cold dusk against warm string lights in the conservatory, an amber cast off the chandeliers in the ballroom, low-key light on red velvet in the theatre. Draping and ruffle stay continuous, edges stay clean, and the burgundy is matched frame to frame across all three settings. A dense allover sparkle like this is also the worst case for social feed compression, which tends to smear it, and for print, where a deep burgundy closes up sooner than it does on screen.
