Bénédiction — Francesca Cottone

The Concept

Bénédiction is the launch campaign for Francesca Cottone's Eau de Parfum: three AI beauty still lifes. Liquid gold, sculpted stone and black marble with kintsugi veining are the three material registers of the series, which reads the fragrance as ritual and as something precious. The first frame sets the rectangular glass bottle on a graded anthracite backdrop, gold veining climbing the left edge and cutting across the bottom of the crop, the polished cap holding the strongest highlight. The second drops colour entirely: sunk into cracked stone, the bottle is defined almost wholly by relief and shadow, and only the label lifts out of it on tonal contrast. The third pulls back onto a split block of black marble, the fractures stitched with gold, the block throwing a hard shadow across the background. What the three share is the vertical format and the way the bottle is lit and placed, not the colour, since the second stays the only fully monochrome frame. In the two close frames the label and monogram anchor the read of the product; in the wide shot recognition falls to the silhouette. None of these sets was built: surfaces, blocks and lighting are entirely digital, with nothing to source, stage or strike.

Applications

The vertical 3:4 format drops straight into feed placements, with a crop for stories. In the two close frames the bottle sits centre-frame and still reads at phone size, which is what has to land first in a fragrance launch. Backgrounds carry no props or set dressing, so the set holds up as a launch carousel, a triptych in the press kit or staggered teasers ahead of release, tied together by proportion while the material under the bottle changes. The marble shot has enough empty background to take a product name, a strapline and a logo for press and outdoor. On a fragrance product page, where the picture has to do the work the scent can't, material rendering signals positioning before the copy does. All images ship with full commercial licence.

Technical Workflow

The stack is Midjourney v6, Magnific AI and Photoshop. The constraint running through the series is bottle consistency across the three shots: same shape, same cap, same Bénédiction label. That is where a fragrance still life series usually falls apart, and here the risk runs higher, because the same proportions have to hold at two different distances: the first two frames are close, with the bottle at near full height, while the third is a wide shot where it takes up a fraction of the frame and the label, which carries the scale reference in the close frames, is no longer legible. The material work comes out of the whole build rather than any single step, from liquid gold reflections to the porosity and loose fragments of cracked stone around the bottle set into it and the depth of black marble with gold running through the fractures. The final grade sits on a narrow gold-and-anthracite palette, tight enough to keep the monochrome frame and the two warm ones in the same series.
