Into The Wild

The Concept

An AI sustainable-fashion shoot in two runs: an open meadow and a plain light backdrop. The reference is the look of a label built on natural fibres and on staying close to the land, and the palette never leaves oatmeal and cream. Against the backdrop the outfit is shot front and back under flat light: an oversized oatmeal coat, stand collar, full sleeves finished with a deep turn-back cuff, three gold-toned buttons down the front and a single seam running down the centre back, worn over a diamond-knit roll-neck and cream wide-leg trousers. Outdoors the mood shifts but the palette holds. In one frame a figure sits on the ground in tall dry grass and yellow flowers under a milky overcast sky that kills every shadow, in a different jacket, wide lapel turned back, cut in a coarser cloth. The other moves to a hay bale: wide-brimmed straw hat, an open book, warmer light, a sky hazy with cloud, and the diamond knit back again. No set was built and no location booked — field, sky and clothes only ever met in the render.

Applications

The backdrop frames, front and back, are product-page material. On an oversized coat the back view is not a bonus — centre seam, shoulder fall and sleeve volume can't be judged online any other way. Nothing in the frame needs cloning out, the figure stays centred with clear margins either side, and the same lighting and framing set-up can be run on any other style. Oatmeal on a light backdrop is low contrast, and a backdrop that drifts in tone between product pages reads as a change in the coat's colour. Consistency, more than any single image, is what lets a shopper compare like with like. The meadow frames do their work further up the funnel — homepage and lookbook. Under the overcast sky the top of the frame is broad and empty, room enough for a campaign headline with no gradient wash or box behind it. The series also exists in a moving version.

Technical Workflow

The work started with a read of the brand's visual identity, so that sustainability and an unforced, natural feel stay legible in every frame rather than merely being claimed. We generated the photorealistic pastoral settings in Midjourney v6 — blooming fields, tall dry grass, golden-hour warmth, the flat white of an overcast sky — all held to a warm, earthy palette. We watched how the natural fibres behave, linen, organic cotton and hemp, and how the volume of the diamond knit reads against the firm hand of the oatmeal coat. The backdrop series sits in a different visual register: flat light, no cast shadow, a backdrop with nothing in it, front and back in the same framing, with Photoshop on that series. The moving version went through Kling AI and After Effects. Poses were chosen for spontaneity, which is where a generated image usually gives itself away.
